The Wild and Scenic Film Festival is visiting ETSU’s campus this Monday to showcase short films that center around the topic of the environment.
The event will take place 6 to 9 p.m. in the Culp auditorium.
Professional films will be screened at this event as well as student films.
According to ETSU’s sustainability website, the film festivals starts in Nevada City, California in the month of January. Once the film festival ends in California the attraction continues to travel all around the country making appearances at many college campuses and cities across America.
ETSU was lucky enough to land a spot for The Wild and Scenic Film Festival this year.
The theme of this year’s Wild and Scenic Film Festival is “At The Edge”, which explores ecosystems and communities that are under numerous amounts of threats, and also people and places at the edge of adventure.
The festival will start off with screenings of eight professional short films. After that, a 30-minute intermission will be held where audience members will be encouraged to check out the enviro-fair, which will be located right outside the culp auditorium.
The enviro-fair will be made up of booths from local environmental groups.
After the intermission, student films will be showcased. In between each short film, there will be a Q&A session with the student filmmakers.
If you are interested in documentary filmmaking and the environment I definitely recommend you check this festival out! I hope to see you there!
